چکیده
Ultrafine-grained Cu/Al/Ag composites were processed by an accumulative roll bonding (ARB) technique from pure copper and aluminum sheets a silver powder. The Al content was fixed to 11 wt.% while the concentration 1, 2, or 3 in wt.%. ARB-processed samples heat treated at different temperatures between 750 1050 °C for 60 min then quenched room temperature (RT) producing Cu–Al–Ag alloys. effect of addition Ag contents various treatment on structural evolution investigated. composed Cu layers with high dislocation density fine grain size (a few microns). During samples, new intermetallic phases formed. For lowest (1 wt.%), main phase brittle simple cubic Al4Cu9, higher concentrations (2 contain mainly orthorhombic β1-AlCu3 martensite phase. consisted very lamellas thickness one micron less. increased microhardness strength RT due formation fine-grained hard 2 3% Ag, highest achieved 850 950 °C, respectively. annealed exhibited good shape memory behavior RT.

Annealing Effects in Twin-Roll Cast AA8006 Aluminium Sheets Processed by Accumulative Roll-Bonding
Ultrafine grained sheets were prepared from a twin-roll cast AA8006 aluminium alloy using accumulative roll-bonding process at room temperature. The evolution of microstructure of sheets after three accumulative roll-bonding passes during isochronal annealing with a constant step of 20 °C/20 min was studied by light and electron microscopy. The influence of the resulting microstructure on mecha...
متن کاملCorrosion Behavior of Al-2wt%Cu Alloy Processed By Accumulative Roll Bonding (ARB) Process
Accumulative roll bonding (ARB) imposes severe plastic strain on materials without changing the specimen dimensions. ARB process is mostly appropriate for practical applications because it can be performed readily by the conventional rolling process. An Al-2wt%Cu alloy was subjected to ARB process up to a strain of 4.8. Stacking of materials and conventional roll-bonding are repeated in the pro...
متن کاملComputational evaluation of the homogeneity of composites processed by accumulative roll bonding (ARB)
A new computational method based on MATLAB was used to study the effect of different parameters on the homogeneity of composites produced by a severe plastic deformation technique known as accumulative roll bonding. For a higher number of passes, the degree of particle agglomeration and clustering decreased, and an appreciable homogeneity was obtained in both longitudinal and transverse directi...
